The Ride Stuff...

Conticomponents Asia Pte Ltd unveils a Ferrari-Red showroom to match their title as the top online bike store on the island.

Who would’ve guessed a humble blog shop to eventually become Singapore’s number one online bike store for aftermarket components, and now they’ve even got a grand showroom for their dealers to prove it? Well, Conticomponents did with style, and their new loft office in Midview City is just one of many ways in their agenda to solidify their position as a aftermarket specialist in the cycling industry.

Opened on 18 February, the 1,500 square feet loft with an integrated office-storage-showroom facility allows dealers to view their range of products in a relaxed and leisurely environment. To top it off, the new showroom is even equipped with a 120-bottles wine cellar, an italian expresso machine and a marantz home theatre system, filling the showroom a lounge-like ambience.

How it all began...

Conticomponents Boutique is the brainchild of Joshua-Uriel, a former corporate banker, and began life as a blog shop for mid-end aftermarket components back in June 2009. “We believe in delivering the right product at the right price from factory to dealers and customers in the quickest time,” says Joshua-Uriel.

This philosophy, along with the growing support of their dealers, is the key to the company’s success. Their services were met with such overwhelming demand that it was only a matter of months that they launched their full-fledged online platform, with improved user interface and enhanced security – www.conticomponents.com

...How it all turned out...

The online presence, as it turned out, is a precursor to Conticomponents’s business model. “Customers need advices, they need technical services, that’s why dealers are our strategic partners when come to deliverying the total shopping experience to the cycling community, quipped the cycling enthusiast turned entrpreneur.

After securing their first distribution right to Carver Bikes in December 2009, everything else flowed into place. Now, Conticomponents is the local market leader in aftermarket components with a distribution portfilio of 16 brands, such as KCNC, Aerozine, Clarks and Exustar. Their products are sold through over 50 dealers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.

Also, they have expanded the scope of their operations, extending their services to secondary schools and tertiary institutions. They even supply OEM parts to PureBikes, an emerging Japanese-carbon full bike brand.

The young company proved empathetically that with passion and a clear vision, much can be achieved in a short time. Their cycling team – Team Conticomponents – garnered 25 podium positions in their ingaural year[2010] – making local amateur cycling history.

...And how it will be.

“Since 2009, the industry is experiencing a renewal of sorts with new entrants that are equipped with varied business or corporate experience. This brings about new ways to doing business. Squatting on brands not longer works. The success of a brand depends largely on the ability of the distributor and dealers to deliver value to the end consumers. Customers vote with clicks these days, not with legs,” commented Joshua-Uriel .

Now, with their newly opened dealer’s showroom, Conticomponents have grown from a start-up into a regional distributor within a short span of two years. An inspiring success story for aspiring entrepreneurs hoping to go into the industry, Joshua-Uriel proves that despite its modest origins, Conticomponents can and will continue ‘bringing to you the Ride stuff’.
